Engineering Manager
Powerscreen Connecticut Inc., has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineering Manager in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Duties: 

Designs and develops heavy aggregate machinery such as crushing, pulverizing and screening equipment. Plans, coordinates, and directs research, design and production of such equipment.  Directs and oversees engineers, technicians and draftsmen in day to day operations and tasks including: market research, indoor testing, field test design in real life applications, recording production and performance figures and marketing of the finished product.  Determine scientific and technical goals including the improvement of the manufacturing process, and developing new products.  Coordinates design of product according to customer demand.  Estimates upcoming market trends, and directs the modification and retesting of prototypes.  Develop overall concept for new products and identifies technical problems.  Performs administrative procedures such as budgeting, hiring and supervision.  Propose budgets for projects and programs and determine staff, training, and equipment needs.  Hire and assign junior engineers, scientists, and support personnel to carry out specific parts of each project.  Supervise the work of these employees, check technical accuracy of their work and the soundness of their methods,  review their output, establish administrative procedures, policies and procedures.  Confer with higher levels of management, with financial, production, marketing and other managers, and with contractors and equipment and material suppliers. 

 

Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and five years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical engineering or related field.
